Becoming a Naturalist Ages 8-10

Becoming a Naturalist (Ages 8-10)

$195

Week 1: July 15th-19th
Week 2: August 12th-16th

This camp builds on the camper’s ability to encounter and describe the natural world. They will use journals, collecting equipment, and take part in many fun activities that will expand their understanding of how to identify our Island’s flora and fauna.

Insect Day 2015 – Sharing a Love of Nature from Macphail Woods on Vimeo.

This video all takes place through our Insect themed day showcasing just some of the activities, ranging from outdoor exploration, species identification, educational slideshows, arts & crafts, nature hikes, and of course, lots of games!

Each session runs Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 3:00pm, rain or shine. We use our very own Nature Centre, located on the Sir Andrew Macphail Homestead property, as a home base for all of our outdoor activities. Located just 20 minutes east of Charlottetown, the Macphail Woods Nature Centre has a variety of teaching spaces and is surrounded by 140 acres of forest and field. Winding through the property are four trails, a stream and one of the province’s finest remaining examples of our native Acadian forest.
