Using an intuitive and practical approach to teaching, children of all ages can become birdwatchers, botanists and trackers. Giving kids positive experiences in nature builds confidence, excitement about being outside, and a deeper appreciation for the world around us.
We run day camps for children aged 6 to 16, covering topics from bird identification to swamp ecosystems to fire lighting. We go for hikes in the woods and in streams and marshes, hoot for owls, play games, explore the fields and woods around the property, and create art. We learn best through hands-on experience, and each camp is an adventure.
Our goal is to give campers an exciting but safe week. Small camp sizes and a high teacher-to-camper ratio as well as years of experience are important factors in accomplishing this goal. Camp leaders are trained in first aid.
