This guidebook is designed to be a user-friendly resource for landowners who may be unfamiliar with the complexities of coastal ecology. It provides clear descriptions of the different types of coastlines found across the island, along with the plant communities that inhabit them. It also outlines the unique challenges each coastal ecosystem faces and offers practical, nature-based solutions to help address these issues.
In addition, the guide includes planting templates, options for soft armouring, and realistic timelines for re-establishing and restoring the benefits of living shorelines.
